Dr. Schnackenberg has been working in the dental field for well over a decade now, and there’s still nothing he loves more than helping a self-conscious patient finally feel confident about their smile again. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
As a child growing up in Gulf Breeze, FL, Dr. Schnackenberg needed extensive dental treatment due to his teeth being severely crowded. Thankfully, he still ended up with a great smile because he had amazing dentists and specialists who cared for him. He wanted to provide that same great feeling to others in need – and the rest is history.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Schnackenberg attended the University of Centra Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2013 with his degree in biomedical sciences and a minor in business. Prior to dental school, he was awarded the prestigious Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) through the United States Air Force. He then attended the University of Florida College of Dentistry, graduating in 2017 before entering active duty. During this time, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program, receiving additional training in orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics.
During his time in the Air Force, Dr. Schnackenberg was stationed at Joint Base Andrews, Kirtland Air Force Base, and Spangdahlem Air Base (Germany), ultimately achieving the rank of Major. He also received multiple Air 1 Force Commendation Medals for Meritorious Service, helping both the Kirtland Dental Clinic (2020) and Spangdahlem Dental Clinic (2022) achieve the Air Force Medium Dental Clinic of the Year award. Today, he is still 100% committed to serving his community and even assisted over 1,000 students at Spangdahlem schools, teaching healthy eating and dental habits. He is currently a proud member of the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
In his free time, Dr. Schnackenberg enjoys both playing and watching sports, spending quality time with friends and family, and traveling. He’s been to 32 countries so far and hopes to continue visiting new places!
